We are appealing for witnesses and information following two suspicious incidents in Portsmouth.
We received a report that, at around 7.30am on Tuesday 15 October, an unknown man chased an 11-year-old girl on Allaway Avenue but did not have any physical contact with her.
Shortly after this incident, another 11-year-old girl was grabbed from behind by a man at the junction of Ludlow Road and Allaway Avenue. It was reported he tried to take the girl's phone.
No injuries were reported from either incident.
Acting Police Sergeant Rich Langley, of the Portsmouth North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "The safety of the community is our top priority and we are taking these reports seriously.
"We are actively working in close partnership with the nearby Castle View Academy and local businesses to identify anyone involved.
"Local officers have stepped up patrols in the area and will continue to do so in the coming days to ensure there is a visible police presence to provide reassurance to residents, parents and students.
"The cooperation of our community is invaluable to us, and we encourage anyone with information or concerns to report them directly to the police.
"At this time, we do not believe there is an immediate danger to the public. However, we remain committed to investigating these reports thoroughly and ensuring that the area remains safe."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 44240452329.
