We are appealing for witnesses following a report of an assault in Basingstoke.
Officers were called to a report that a man in his 40s had been assaulted on Wote Street at around 11.30pm on Saturday 23 November.
The man had been punched and fell to the ground. He suffered a number of injuries, including broken teeth and facial injuries, and was taken to hospital to receive treatment.
As part of our investigation, a 28-year-old man from Amesbury, Wilts, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and would like witnesses to come forward.
We believe there were people in the area at the time and some may have witnessed the incident.
Do you have any information which could help our enquiries? Did you witness the incident?
Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting 44240511286.
