Officers investigating an assault in Lord's Hill Way are appealing for witnesses to assist their investigation.
The incident occurred near Sainsbury's around 12.30am to 1am this morning (May 11).
It has been reported a man was assaulted by a woman, causing cuts and bruises to his face.
As part of our investigation, a 42-year-old woman from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and she remains in custody at this time.
We believe there were some people in the area around this time who may have witnessed the incident and we are keen to speak with them.
