Update following fatal collision in Brading

We are now releasing the name of a woman who died following a fatal collision in Brading.
Police were called at 11.20am on Saturday, 8 June to reports of a collision on Downs Road.
The collision involved two vehicles; a silver Hyundai i40 and a silver Land Rover Defender, which was towing a trailer.
Sadly, the passenger of the Hyundai, 77-year-old Miranda Mellor from Newport, died at the scene.
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 40-year-old man from Newport, suffered serious injuries and is being treated in hospital.
We are continuing to investigate this collision and would like to speak to any witnesses or people with relevant dash cam footage who have not already come forward.
