Officers investigating a burglary in Bransgore last night (Thursday 6 June) are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
We were called at approximately 6.15pm to a report that three males had gained entry to a property on Derritt Lane by forcing their way through a conservatory door.
The occupant of the house, a woman in her 80s, was shouted at by one of the males who demanded to know where her money was, while the other two males completed an untidy search of the property. A solid gold bracelet was stolen during the incident.
We have been at the scene and completing enquiries in the area of the burglary since the incident was reported to us. We would now like to hear from anyone we haven’t yet spoken to who may have information to assist our investigation.
Perhaps you live in the local area and saw suspicious activity last night after 6pm, or maybe you were driving through and have dash cam footage that captured three males?
Perhaps you have since spotted something out of place in the area, which might be connected to the incident, such as any discarded property?
We’d also be keen to hear from anyone who spotted a white vehicle in the area – possible a saloon-type vehicle.
New Forest District Commander, Chief Inspector Nick Marsden said: “Residential burglary is always an intrusive and traumatic crime for any victim but for a vulnerable elderly victim to have to go through this is particularly distressing and abhorrent.
“My officers have been in the area since the incident was reported to us and remain there today carrying out enquiries. We urge anyone with information, questions or concerns to please come and speak to them. We are doing everything we can to identify the people responsible for this crime.”
