Appeal for witnesses following altercation in Andover
Main article content
We are appealing for witnesses following an altercation on a roundabout in Andover.
We were called at 1.56pm on Sunday 31 December to reports that two vehicles, a silver BMW X3 and a white BMW1 Series had come to a stop at a red light on Hundred Acre Roundabout, adjacent to the McDonald’s on Joule Road.
It was reported that an altercation had taken place between the occupants of both vehicles, three men and a woman. It was reported that one of the men had a hammer which he used to cause damage to the vehicles involved.
Officers attended the scene however both vehicles had left the area. Both cars were stopped a short time later and the occupants were spoken to.
A 25-year-old man from Wiltshire was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been released from police custody on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
Officers investigating this incident would now like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened. We believe there were a number of cars in the area and there may still be witnesses we have not yet spoken to. Perhaps you saw what happened or have dash cam or mobile phone footage of the incident?
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 44230531924.
