Officers are investigating following a report that a woman was assaulted in Andover town centre.
We received a call from a member of the public at 6.24pm on Saturday 13 April, who reported that a woman was being assaulted by a man in Waterloo Court.
The incident is believed to have started in Bridge Street.
The woman, in her 20s, sustained reddening to her skin.
Officers attended and arrested a 24-year-old man from Andover on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been released on police bail with conditions until Saturday 13 July to allow further enquiries to take place.
