Officers investigating an assault in Basingstoke in the early hours of Saturday morning (2 September) are appealing for witnesses.
We were called at 2.52am to reports of an altercation taking place between three men in Market Place.
A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening at the current time.
Officers attended and arrested two 18-year-old men from Basingstoke on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent. Both men have been released from police custody on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
Police investigating this incident would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened or has any information surrounding the circumstances of the assault.
