We are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision in the New Forest.
We were called at 10.45pm on Monday 4 September to a collision on B3054 Bull Hill in Pilley.
This involved a white Seat Mii I-Tech which collided with a horse and pony. The animals had to be put to sleep due to their injuries and the car sustained substantial damage.
When police arrived the car had left the scene. The driver, a man in his 30s, has since come forward. No arrests have been made at this stage.
We are looking for witnesses to the collision and anyone who saw the Seat before or after the incident.
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting reference 44230359919
