Officers investigating reports of a robbery in Southampton are seeking witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward following an incident on Tuesday 17 October.
It comes after an incident occurred at a branch of McDonald’s on High Road at around 4.45pm.
Two teenagers were approached by an unknown person who allegedly threatened them with an offensive weapon, before demanding that they hand over their mobile phones. The victims complied with the request.
The teenage boy making the demands then left the scene towards the direction of High Road.
The boy is described as being of Asian, around 15-16 years old, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and of skinny build. He was seen to be wearing a black puffer jacket, black trousers, black Nike trainers and a black balaclava.
He was seen to be with a group of six other teenage boys who were all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas as well.
We have carried out initial enquiries, including scoping relevant CCTV footage, but are now asking the public for their assistance.
Did you witness what happened? Were you in or around the area of High Road at the time of the offence and saw a large group of teenage boys?
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number 44230425745.
Alternatively, you can visit the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website and make a report there: https://www.hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/.
