Officers investigating an assault in Gosport are appealing for witnesses.
We were called on Saturday 14 October to a report that sometime between 10.30pm and 11.15pm a man had been seriously assaulted at the White Horse Inn on Nobes Avenue.
A man in his 30s reported that he had been hit in the face with a glass by a man in the pub’s beer garden.
He sustained a laceration and swelling to one of his eyes as a result of the incident.
Officers attended alongside our colleagues at South Central Ambulance Service and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.
We have been carrying out a number of lines of enquiry in order to identify the man responsible for the assault and would now like to hear from anyone who was in the pub at the time and witnessed the assault, who has not yet spoken to police.
Were you in the White Horse Inn, Gosport, on the evening of Saturday 14 October? Did you see the assault, the moments leading up to it or the aftermath?
Anyone with information that may assist our enquiries is asked to call 101 quoting reference 44230421771.
