We’re appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which occurred in Cowes this morning (Thursday 5 October).
Police were called at 8.07am with reports of a collision involving a Kia Picanto and a pedestrian on Newport Road, near to the Smithards Lane junction.
The pedestrian – a woman in her 40s – has sustained a head injury which is potentially life-threatening. She has been taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Officers are keen to identify any witnesses, in particular two specific vehicle drivers who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it – they are the rider of a red motorcycle and the driver of a white lorry.
