INVESTIGATION UPDATE: In the early hours of this morning (Friday 27 October), officers investigating this incident arrested a 31 year-old man from Liss on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in police custody at the current time whilst investigations continue.
We are appealing for witnesses after a 67-year-old man was assaulted whilst walking on the Riverside Walk Railway trail at around 19:30 on Monday 9 October.
The man reported that he noticed someone behaving oddly in a bush but continued walking past. He was then assaulted from behind and was subsequently treated for a fractured eye socket at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
