We are appealing for information following a report that a teenage girl was robbed in Romsey.
The incident took place between 5.30pm and 6pm on Saturday 25 November.
The victim, a 15-year-old girl, had got off a train at Romsey, and walked through the underpass along Canal Walk.
When she was in woodland near to the Environment Agency office, she was approached by a man wearing a dark hooded top.
He demanded her possessions, before punching her in the face and making off with the victim’s bag.
The girl sustained bruising. After the incident, she spoke to a member of the public and police were called.
The bag was a Primark satchel-type bag with a long strap. It contained perfume, lip gloss and hair grips.
The man has been described as:
• White
• Aged in his 20s
• Around 6ft tall
• Of medium build
• Wearing dark clothing – a hooded top and possibly jogging bottoms
We have been making various enquiries since this was reported, and we are now appealing to the public for any information that may help our investigation.
We know that this area was busy at the time, as it was around the time of the Romsey Christmas lights switch on.
Were you in this area at around this time? Did you see what happened, or perhaps you remember seeing a man matching the description given?
You may have seen someone carrying the bag as described?
