We are appealing for witnesses after two people were assaulted in Winchester.
The incident happened at around 10.10pm on Wednesday 21 June, on Old Kennels Lane at the junction of Stockbridge Road and Western Road.
One of the victims, a man in his 60s, had been unloading a vehicle on the side of the road when the suspect, driving a Toyota Aygo, began beeping his horn at the victim.
He then got out of the car and punched the victim several times causing a serious injury to his face.
The victim’s wife, a woman in her 60s, came over to help and was then assaulted by the same man causing a serious injury to her face.
Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
A 23-year-old man from Winchester has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been released on police bail.
We have conducted a number of enquiries and are now asking the public for any information that could assist our investigation.
