We are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Lymington on Sunday evening (25 June).
It was reported that at approximately 7pm the victim, a man in his 20s, had been cycling towards Lymington on Stanford Hill when a silver car pulled up alongside him at the junction with Highfield.
A man then got out of the car and assaulted the victim several times. He also threatened him with a knife before getting back into the car and driving away.
The victim was not seriously injured.
Officers investigating this incident have arrested a 25-year-old man from Pennington on suspicion of common assault and possession of a bladed article. He has been released from police custody on conditional bail to allow for further enquiries to continue.
As part of our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened.
Were you driving along Stanford Hill at around 7pm on Sunday? Did you see the assault, or do you have dash cam footage that may have captured anything?
