We have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a burglary in Fratton last night (Monday 2 January).
We were called shortly before 8.30pm to a report that three men had forced entry to an address on Fifth Street.
The men ran away in the direction of St Mary’s Road and into Kingston Park.
Officers attended and conducted a search of the area.
We have arrested a 19-year-old man from Portsmouth on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.
He remains in police custody at the current time.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing and officers will be in the area today conducting enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 44230001927. Perhaps you were driving down Fifth Street, St Mary’s Road or in the vicinity of Kingston Park around the time mentioned and have dash cam footage of the men running away that may assist our enquiries? Or perhaps you saw what happened, saw the three men running away from the area or acting suspiciously?
