CCTV image released following Southampton assault

Officers investigating an assault have today (15 Feb) released a CCTV image of a man that they would like to speak with in connection with the incident.
It comes after a man in his 50s is reported to have been assaulted outside of Fairchild House on Southampton Street after being approached by an unknown person. The incident happened at around 7.20pm on Sunday 12 February.
The victim sustained slash wounds to his face and upper body.
As part of our enquiries, liaising with local CCTV operators, we have identified a man that was in the area at the time who may be able to assist with our investigation.

We believe that this was an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public.
