Officers investigating a robbery in Chandler’s Ford are imploring witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.
It comes after a disturbance outside an address on Suffolk Drive in the Chandler’s Ford area at around 10.35pm last night (Thursday, August 24) where it was reported that three men had broken into a Ford Transit van.
It is alleged that the three men had threatened a member of the public with an offensive weapon, before proceeding to strike a nearby vehicle causing significant damage to the bonnet and headlights.
They later fled the scene with approximately £4,500 worth of tools.
Officers were deployed to the scene and conducted a wide-area search but were unable to locate the vehicle or suspects.
Police Constable Jodi Bartlett, said: “We are really keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything in relation to this incident. Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you witnessed what happened? Or maybe you have CCTV or Ring doorbell footage of the incident taking place?
“This was an aggravated robbery where extreme violence was threatened and significant alarm and distress caused to those involved. We are carrying out a number of enquiries today in the local area to locate those responsible – including house-to-house visits and forensics – but we would implore anyone with information to come forward.
“No matter how small, or insignificant you believe it to be, it could prove vital in our investigation.”
