Appeal for witnesses to serious collision in Newport

We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the Isle of Wight.

We were called to a report that at approximately 8.45pm yesterday (15/8) a silver Honda motorcycle had collided with the safety barrier on Medina Way at the junction with Dodnor Lane in Newport.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 19-year-old man from Newport, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His family have been made aware.

We are now asking for anyone with information about the collision who has not already spoken to police to come forward.

Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you saw a silver motorcycle on Medina way or in the area shortly before 8.45pm?

We would particularly like to speak to anyone with relevant dash cam footage.
