We are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Portsmouth.
It was reported that at 11.43pm on Saturday 8 October a 59-year-old man from Portsmouth was approached by a group of approximately 15 young people on Goldsmith Avenue, near to the footbridge for Fratton train station.
The group hit the man in the head, neck and back a number of times and he was knocked unconscious.
Members of the public helped the man and he was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident to come forward.
