We would like people with information to come forward after a man sustained serious facial injuries in Winchester.
The incident took place in Market Lane sometime between 10am and 11am, back on Thursday 10 June.
The victim, a 40-year-old man, left the Boots Pharmacy by the rear entrance and was walking along Market Lane when he was assaulted by an unknown person.
He woke in hospital, having sustained serious facial injuries that required reconstructive surgery.
The incident was only reported to us on Wednesday 7 July, and as part of our enquiries, we would like to hear from anyone who knows what took place.
Detective Constable Iain Howard said: “Somebody must know what happened to this man.
“We appreciate this took place a month ago, but we would like people to cast their minds back to the morning of Thursday 10 June.
“Were you in Winchester city centre that morning? Did you see a man being assaulted?
“It was reported that a member of the public found the injured man and called for an ambulance. Was this you? You may have information that could help our investigation.”
