Officers are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Gosport.
At some time between 1.55pm and 2.15pm on Thursday, 29 July an altercation occurred between two men at The Precinct, South Street, Gosport.
While the two men were involved in a fight with one another, a third man approached and hit one of the men, a 35-year-old from Gosport, around the head with a weapon, described as a baton.
The victim was taken to hospital where he received seven stitches to an open wound on his head and is now suffering from concussion.
The man involved in the original altercation is described as: white, aged in his early 30s, 5ft 9ins, of medium build and with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a peaked cap and was on a pushbike which was blue or black in colour, with some white on it.
The third man is described as: white, with tanned skin, around 5ft 9ins, aged 20 - 30, of slim build with short to medium dark brown / black hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and trousers.
