Appeal after man left in critical condition following incident in Alton

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man has been left in a critical condition following an altercation in Alton.

The incident happened just after midnight (26 July), on the High Street, Alton, close to the Vodafone store.

Following an altercation, a 24-year-old man was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he is being treated for serious head injuries.

Officers will be at the scene today continuing with their enquiries.
