Work with us on a temporary or short-term basis.
TempForce is an employment scheme set up within Hampshire Constabulary and is similar to a high street recruitment agency – but purely for the constabulary. The scheme is made up of a register of workers who are available to provide quality cover for temporary or short-term placements within Hampshire Constabulary.
We're looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds to join our team and be part of an organisation dedicated to preventing crime and protecting people.
We are also keen to hear from people who have specialist police skills or experience, gained during previous experience within the police service. Work is on a casual basis and can be for varying lengths of time in a variety of different roles, for example, to cover holidays, maternity leave, volume of work or abstractions. Hours of work will also vary and may be full or part-time.
Our assignments can be as short as two weeks or as long as six months. Work will be available at a variety of locations across the force area according to operational need, sometimes at very short notice.
Pay rates will be based on the role profile for the work being undertaken. The exact rate of pay will be confirmed prior to the start of any assignment.
All of our available opportunities, including the opportunity to register for TempForce, can be found at www.newjob.org.uk. If you can’t see the role you’re interested in, you can register for alerts to be kept up-to-date.
If your application form meets the required standard then you will be asked to come to an informal interview to talk about your skills and experience and to find out about the type of work that may be suitable for you. Pre-employment checks will also need to be completed before registration with TempForce can be confirmed.
If you have specialist skills which we are unable to use at the time we will place your application form on hold for six months.
Applicants to TempForce are free to register with other agencies or do other work. There is no guarantee that work will be offered, and no obligation to accept any offer made.
