Policing is a career like no other. Our police officers, police staff and volunteers show courage, teamwork and compassion on a daily basis to make a real difference to people’s lives. You’ll be doing this at a time when the force is dealing with new and emerging types of crime, such as cybercrime, as well as helping victims of high-harm offences like rape and domestic abuse.
People become police staff for all kinds of reasons. Some like the flexibility and job security that we can offer. Some are professionals who want to leave behind the commercial world and do something that makes a difference. Others join in operational roles with a view to gaining the extra skills and experience they need to pursue a career as a police officer.

More about police staff roles
From forensics to Police Staff Investigators, detention officers to PCSOs, call handlers, analysts, communications and legal professionals, there is so much variety. You might not even know you have the skills we are looking for.
We also work in partnership with Thames Valley Police in a number of areas, including IT. Visit their recruitment site for details of their current opportunities.
If you are only available for temporary or short-term work, we also have something called TempForce. It is an employment scheme set up within Hampshire Constabulary and is similar to a high-street recruitment agency – but purely for the constabulary. We're especially keen to hear from people who have specialist police skills or experience, gained during previous experience within the police service. Find out more here.
