Misconduct hearing outcome 

Officer concerned: PC Jason Taylor

Summary

It was alleged that:

1. In October 2005, whilst on duty as a serving police officer for Hampshire Constabulary, the officer had inappropriate sexual contact with a vulnerable member of the public whose emotional state was such that she could not freely consent to such activity.
2. In 2008, the officer has abused his position as a police officer to establish contact with one member of the public for the purposes of seeking a personal relationship with her
3. In 2009, the officer abused his position as a police officer to establish/maintain contact with another member of the public for the purposes of seeking a personal and/or sexual relationship with her

Outcome

Gross misconduct was proven in relation to allegations 2 and 3. The panel concluded these allegations breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to ‘Honesty and Integrity’, ‘Authority, Respect and Courtesy’, ‘Confidentiality’ and ‘Discreditable Conduct’. Allegation 1 was not proven.

Sanction

The officer was dismissed without notice and was placed on the College of Policing Barred List.
