This page has been set up in memory of PC Richard Phillips-Schofield, who died on Tuesday, March 11, as a result of injuries sustained in a cycling accident at a velodrome in Portsmouth.
Known to his friends as Rich, the 33-year-old officer was based at Bitterne, and served the full ten years of his career in Southampton. His main passion was cycling, a sport he excelled at, winning many national and international awards. He recently won two gold medals and a silver at the World Police & Fire Games. He was taking part in a race at the velodrome when the tragic accident occurred. He was a first-class police officer and his loss is felt throughout Hampshire Constabulary and the extended police family.
Rich is survived by his parents and brother, to whom this book is dedicated.
