Police are appealing for information after a set of ornamental samurai swords were stolen from a garage in Basingstoke.

Some time between 7.30am and 8.30am on Friday, August 31, offender(s) broke into a garage in Quilter Road, Brighton Hill.

The offender(s) took a number of items, including a bike, jewellery and a set of three ornamental samurai swords which have black and white snakeskin covers and were on a wooden stand.

PCSO Cat Haw said: "The items stolen were quite distinctive, especially the ornamental swords.

"Have you been offered anything like this for sale? Or do you know anything about this incident?"

Members of the public are also reminded that having any kind of weapon in a public place is a serious offence and could result in a prison sentence.
