Police are appealing for information after lead was stolen from a house in Andover.

The incident took place just after 9.30pm on Saturday, December 15 at an address in Highlands Road, Andover.

The victim disturbed two offenders in the alley at the side of his house who were in the process of trying to steal lead strips from the roof.  They then fled the scene.

Once they had gone the victim discovered several feet of lead strip had been taken.

The offenders are described as two white males, one wearing a red coat and one wearing a dark top.

PC Paddy Coveney, said: "I would like to hear from anyone with information that could help identify the offenders or lead to the recovery of the lead.

"Enquiries so far indicate that the two offenders may have been in the area from as early as 6pm that evening. Whilst the area was not particuarly busy, we know that a number of people walk dogs and run nearby and it is possible they may have seen something.  I would urge anyone with any information or anyone who may have seen any suspicous actvity in the area during the evening of December 15 to come forward and speak to us."
