Police are appealing for information after a teenager was assaulted in Petersfield.

At some time between 3.15pm and 3.45pm on Sunday, September 16, the 17-year-old victim was walking along Borough Road in the direction of Bedford Road, Petersfield.

He became aware that he was being followed by two young men.  The men then assaulted him by punching him to the face, eye and nose. The victim then fell to the floor where he was kicked a number of times in the back.  The offenders then ran off towards Bedford Road.

The victim received a cut and bruise below his left eye, which may have been caused by a ring on one of the offender's fingers; a bloodied nose, and bruising on his back.

Officers have descriptions of the two men they want to speak to.

The first man is described as:
- Aged 18 to 19
- 6ft
- Muscular build
- Wearing a white hooded top and blue trousers.  The hooded top had a black pattern on the left shoulder.  He was carrying a dark coloured draw string bag over his left shoulder.

The second man is described as:
- White
- Aged 18 to 19
- 5ft 8ins
- Skinny build
- He had stubble or a beard
- Wearing a white zip up hooded top with the hood pulled up to partially cover his face, dark trousers and dark trainers with pink laces.

PC Simon Denton, said: "The victim was left bloodied and bruised following this unprovoked attack. I am appealing for information to help me identify the two men who carried out this assault, which took place in a residential area in broad daylight.
