Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted daytime robbery in Andover.

The incident occurred at around 2pm on Thursday, August 23 in London Road.

The victim, a 17-year-old girl, was stood next to the Job Centre when a man approached and tried to grab her mobile phone while she was holding it.

The suspect is described as:

  • White man
  • Aged in his late 50s or early 60s
  • Around 6ft tall
  • Skinny build
  • Grey hair in a short and neat style
  • Large hands with veins protruding out of the skin
  • He was wearing a navy blue suit, a white checked shirt with black lines and silver square glasses.

PC Phil Brown from Andover police station said: "I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or who recognises the description of the suspect."
