Police are appealing for witnesses after thousands of pounds worth of metal was stolen from Grosvenor House in Basing View, Basingstoke.

Between 5pm on Friday, August 3 and 11am and Tuesday, August 7, offenders gained access to the building and stole a large quantity of metal from the roof space.

PC Michael Higgins said: "It is likely to have taken a number of hours to move this amount of metal, so people may have seen something suspicious in the Basing View area.

"Dog walkers who use the area as a shortcut to get to Eastrop Park may have seen something which could help this investigation. If you saw anything, please contact me as soon as possible."

Officers are also reminding people and businesses to ensure their properties are kept secure at all times
