Detectives have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with an armed robbery at a nightclub in Basingstoke.

Shortly after 1pm on Monday, February 25, two men walked into Wonderland, off Churchill Way. Once inside they threatened a member of staff with what is believed to be a handgun, tied him up and stole cash in excess of £10,000. The member of staff, aged 34, was not injured.

The men, who are described as white and had their faces covered, then left the club and made off towards Church Street.

One of the men was wearing a black padded jacket and dark coloured trousers, possibly jogging bottoms. The other man was wearing grey trousers, possibly jogging bottoms, and a dark-coloured jacket.

Detective Constable Richard Chegwidden said: "Do you recognise the men in these CCTV images? Any piece of information could be significant to this investigation.

"This incident happened in the middle of the day in a busy area of Basingstoke. Were you driving between Eastrop Roundabout and Victory Roundabout at that time? Did you see two men near the entrance to Wonderland?

"We are very keen to speak to two pedestrians who separately crossed over Churchill Way from the bus station side of the road towards the Wonderland side of the road, shortly after 1pm. They may have information which could help this investigation.

"We are also keen to speak to the driver of a red car who turned left into an underground parking area located just after Wonderland, around the time of this incident."

Officers have been out in Churchill Way today (Tuesday, February 26) at lunchtime, carrying out stop-checks of motorists who may have been travelling on the same section of road when the robbery took place on Monday.
