Police are appealing for information after a man who was walking five large dogs approached two girls in Aldershot.

The girls - aged eight and nine - were playing in Beaumont Park play area shortly before 5pm on February 2, when the man approached them. He was walking five large dogs at the time. He grabbed the nine-year-old's hand at one point but then let her go and both girls ran away.

He is described as white, at least 6ft 2ins tall and was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a black hooded-top, both of which had a red stripe on them. He was also wearing white trainers with a pink tick and a white baseball cap with a picture of a man with a bat. His hood was pulled over his cap.

PC Andy Jones said: "This man would have been quite distinctive as he was walking with five dogs.

"Did you see him in the area at the time of this incident or have you seen him walking his dogs since?

"Officers are investigating the exact circumstances of this incident and any information could be extremely helpful."

Safer Neighbourhoods Officers have been conducting extra patrols in the area.
