Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a tractor near Basingstoke.

The incident occurred between midnight and 1.35am on Tuesday, February 26 at a sawmill yard in Malshanger.

The offenders entered the yard and stole a silver Valtra 151T tractor.

PC Richard Baldwin from the Basingstoke Rural Safer Neighbourhoods team said: "I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the stolen tractor being driven away from the yard in the Malshanger and Upper Wootton areas or on the A339 in the early hours of Tuesday, February 26.

"I would urge all business owners and farmers to be vigilant and ensure that all heavy machinery and plant is secured or immobilised. You could consider some form of tracking device for your high value equipment."
