Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Fourmarks.

At some time between 3pm and 3.15pm on Sunday, February 17 an 8-year-old boy was cycling his bike, travelling east, on Winston Rise, near to the junction with Blenheim Close, Fourmarks

An unknown vehicle struck the pedal cycle and the boy was knocked off his bike and onto the grass verge at the side of the road.

He suffered severe bruising and was kept in hospital for observation.

PC Chris O'Connor, said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to this incident in which a young boy has been knocked from his bike in a residential street, to come forward.

"The victim, who was left injured and alone by the side of the road, has been extremely shaken by this incident.  He was helped by passing motorists and local residents.

"I would urge anyone with any information about this incident or anyone who thinks they may know who the driver of the vehicle is, to contact police at the earliest opportunity."
