Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Winchester.

At around 7pm on Thursday, February 7 the offender entered Pitvale Garage, Romsey Road, Winchester.  The offender, who was in possession of a knife and wearing a hooded top and scarf to cover his facial features, approached the till and demanded money.  When he was told there was no money, a discussion took place and the offender agreed to take three packets of Amber Leaf rolling tobacco valued at around £20.

The offender then left the garage, turning left and walked along a path towards the city centre.

The man police want to speak to is described as:
- White
- Around 5ft 6ins
- Slight build
- Wearing a grey hooded top with a black pattern on it, black tracksuit bottoms and trainers

Detective Constable Steve Roman, said: "This petrol station is located off of a roundabout on the road that leads to Hursley.  The site is secluded and set back from the road but is well illuminated.

"I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the offender in the Romsey Road area to come forward and speak to us. I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch with us at the earliest opportunity."
