Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Andover.

The incident occurred between 4am on Sunday, September 23 and 5pm on Monday, September 24 at a house in Wolversdene Road.

The house was broken into while the occupants were away on holiday. The offenders stole an Acer laptop and jewellery, including items of sentimental value which had been in the family for over half a century.

PC Dave Hindle from Andover police station said: "I would like to hear from anybody who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Wolversdene Road on Sunday, September 22 or Monday, September 23.

"I'd also like to take this opportunity to offer some advice to homeowners to help them keep their properties safe.

"If you are going away from your property for an extended period, try to make your home look occupied - cancel milk and newspaper deliveries, get a friend or neighbour to collect your post and draw your curtains and use timer switches to turn the lights on in the evening."
