Detectives investigating a robbery in Whitehill on Wednesday, September 5 have arrested a man in connection with the incident.

The robbery occurred between 2.50pm and 3pm in the wooded area to the rear of Champney Close.

The victim, a 54-year-old man, was threatened with a knife by a group of four suspects before they stole money, a bank card, a lottery ticket and a mobile phone.

Police carried out searches at local addresses on the evening of Thursday, September 6.

A 22-year-old man from Whitehill has been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. He is still being questioned at this time.

Detective Constable Ewan Gardner said: "I am still keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious and thinks they may be able to assist with our investigation. Did you see a group of four men in the area on Wednesday afternoon? Did you see men running off towards the woods at about 3pm?"
