Police are appealing for information after a customised van was stolen from Beacon Hill car park in Burghclere.

A 39-year-old man had parked the Volkswagen Camper Van in the car park at Beacon Hill while he went for a training run for the Three Peaks Challenge.

He returned a few hours later to find that the van, which has been extensively modified at a cost of several thousand pounds, had gone.

The van was stolen sometime between 8.30am and 11.30am on Saturday, September 29.

PC Phil Chalke said: "This is a local beauty spot used by many people during the weekend.

"I would like to hear from anyone who visited Beacon Hill car park on Saturday, September 29, who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area or seen the van being driven off."
