Police are appealing for information following two burglaries in Andover.

The most recent incident took place at some time between 9.30pm on Saturday, October 13 and 6.30am Sunday, October 14.  The offender/s used an implement to force open a secure garage door in Boreway Close, Andover.  Once inside, they took a large amount of fishing tackle which is worth more than over £10,000, and a number of other items.

The items stolen are described as:
- Numerous fishing reels, nets, alarms, remote control boats to take line out into the water, a tent, chairs and beds.
- Two Barbel fishing rods
- Three Black Max fishing rods
- Eight Greys fishing rods
- Three Nash fishing rods
- Two Pike fishing rods
- A Canon digital camera model EOS550 worth £549.00 in a red and black camera bag. The bag contained three lens', a battery pack and three batteries worth around £160.

The second incident occurred between 8am on Tuesday, October 9 and 6.30pm on Friday, October 12 in Galahad Close, Andover.  The offender/s broke in to the garage and once inside stole fishing equipment.

PC Dave Hindle, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who has any information about these burglaries.  The incidents took place within a number of days of each other, and in both incidents expensive fishing tackle has been stolen.

"Were you in the area at the time of the incidents?  Have you been offered any of the stolen items for sale?

"As always, I would urge residents to ensure locks on garages are kept maintained and in good working order and to keep valuable property indoors and away from outer windows."
