Police are appealing for information following a burglary in which a large quantity of jewellery was stolen in Winchester.

The incident occurred between 8am and 7.45pm on Monday, September 8 at a property in Pudding Lane, Headbourne Worthy.

A large quantity of precious jewellery was stolen including rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

PC Andrew Ferguson from Winchester police station said: "This burglary has seen a lifetime collection of jewellery stolen including items passed down from previous generations that cannot be replaced.

"I would like to appeal to anyone with information about this burglary, or the stolen items, to contact the police. 

"Did you see anyone suspicious in the area at the time of the incident or have you been offered the pictured items for sale?

"If you have valuable jewellery in your home, take photographs to assist in locating the property should it be stolen and consider storing items in a safe."
