Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Liphook.

The incident occurred at some around 3.45am on Sunday, October 7 at Old Thorns Golf Club, Liphook.

The victim, aged in his late 30s, came across two men who were at the entrance to the building works area of the golf club, off Queens Road.

The victim was pushed in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground, and was then struck in the face with an unknown implement.  He then ran from the scene.

One of the men police want to speak to, who is pictured in the e-fit, is described as:
- White
- Aged in his late 30s to early 40s
- Approximately 5ft 5ins
- Quite large build
- Wearing a black bomber style jacket which was zipped up, and black trousers. The trousers were tucked into some black, high leg military style boots.  He was also wearing a grey tweed flat cap.

PC Stephen Brown, said: "The victim stumbled across two men who may have been attempting to steal a vehicle parked near the building works at the club.  He was then assaulted causing him to receive a minor injury to his face where the offender's weapon struck him.

"I am appealing to members of the community to assist in identifying the person in the e-fit.  If you think you know who this man could be, or you have any other information about this incident, please get in touch with us at the earliest opportunity."
