Police in Basingstoke have issued a photograph of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault.

The incident took place at around 11.15am on Wednesday, November 21 in Quilter Road.

The victim, a 51-year-old man, was walking his dog when he was hit twice to the back of his head causing bruising.

PC Lee Bishop from Basingstoke police station said: "I would ask anyone who recognises the man in this picture to contact the police as we think he may be able to assist with the investigation.

"I'd also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault. It is likely that there were other dog walkers in the area at the time."
