Police are appealing for information following a burglary at an elderly woman's address in Andover.

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at an elderly woman's address in Andover.

The burglary occurred at some time between 5.05pm and 5.50pm on Wednesday, June 6 at an address in Apple Tree Grove, Andover.  The victim had gone out, leaving the side door unlocked.  When she returned home a red handbag was missing from the kitchen area.

The handbag contained a Halifax bank card, a Barclays bank card, a bus pass and a house key.

PC James Dalton, said: "I am appealing for information in relation to this incident.  Did you see anyone acting suspiciously or calling on houses in the area of Apple Tree Grove, Tollgate Road, or The Drove on Wednesday at around 5pm?  I would urge anyone with any information to come forward and speak to us.

"I would also like to remind residents to keep their doors and windows locked, especially when leaving the address, even if it's only for a short period of time."
