Basingstoke detectives are appealing for information after a 17-year-old youth was robbed on a footbridge over the A339.
Between 5.30 and 6pm Monday, December 10, the local youth was walking from Oakridge to Popley. As he crossed the footbridge, leading to Shakespeare Road, he felt a sudden pull on the plastic CEX carrier bag in his right hand.
When he turned, the youth saw two other youths, one holding the carrier bag in both hands and the other aiming a punch. The carrier bag ripped, and the offenders ran off with the bag and its contents - leads and a power cable for an X Box 360.
Both offenders are white, slim, 5ft 7-8ins tall and aged about 18. The youth who grabbed the bag wore a black puffy coat over a black hoodie. He had a black scarf covering the lower part of his face.
The youth who threw the punch wore a dark blue hoodie under a cream-coloured jacket. He had short brown hair and a thin brown moustache.
Basingstoke Detective Constable Paul Smith is leading the robbery investigation.
"Robbery is a particularly cowardly and nasty crime which often leaves the victim with lasting effects. If anyone knows anything which may assist the police to catch these offenders, please call me, to ensure that they do not get the opportunity to spoil anybody else's Christmas," DC Smith said.
