Police are appealing for information following an assault at a sports centre in Andover.

At some time between 6pm and 7pm on Friday, August 17 the 58-year-old victim was at Charlton Sports Centre, Andover.

After a short time an altercation occurred between the victim and another man.  The victim was punched a number of times and both ended up on the ground before the victim managed to get the man off him.

The victim received bruising around his left eye, nose and forehead, as well as on his arm.

PC Lisa Wearn, said: "The assault took place in the presence of children and their parents, who were at football practice.  There were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident who would have witnessed what happened. 

"Two women stopped and spoke to the victim during the incident.  I am very keen to speak to these women as they may have seen or heard something which could be vital to our investigation."
