Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Alton while the residents were away.

At some time between 9.30am on Friday, August 3 and 4pm on Friday, August 10 a burglary took place at an address on Goatacher Road, Medstead, Alton.

The offender/s entered at the back of property and once inside they took money and jewellery.

PC Adrian Collisson, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about this incident.  Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area?

"If you are going to be away from your property for an extended period, try to make your home look occupied - cancel milk and newspaper deliveries, get a trusted friend or neighbour to collect your post and draw your curtains and use timer switches to turn the lights on in the evening. These simple measures make your house look lived in and could help you keep your property safe while you are away."
