Hightown beat is bordered at its northern-most point by the A31 and covers the area from just east of the town centre up towards Picket Post and south as far as Crow. On the borders of these more rural areas is the Bransgore and Burley beat area.
The beat is mostly made up of residential areas but also has Carvers Recreation Ground and Ringwood Comprehensive School. Carvers Recreation Ground has a large grassed area and cricket pitch, along with a well equipped skate park and children's play area. The grassed area of Carvers has historically been an area for juvenile nuisance and anti-social behaviour during summer evenings but robust policing has significantly reduced any issues.
Ringwood Health and Leisure Centre (which includes a 25m swimming pool) is adjacent to Ringwood Comprehensive School.
Hightown beat is also home to Ellingham and Ringwood Rugby Club training ground.
It has a couple of local convenience stores and also The Elm Tree pub is within the beat area.

I am the Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant responsible for the Ringwood, Burley and Bransgore area.
I have been a Police Officer since 1994 and have worked in a variety of frontline uniform and plain clothes department across Hampshire. In terms of crime levels, the New Forest is still one of the safest places to live and I intend to help keep it that way. I am fortunate to lead a team that is experienced in dealing with crime and neighbourhood issues and who have supported the sector in reducing the number of victims of crime.
The continuing challenge is to further reduce the numbers of all crime categories and I will be ensuring that we are focused in supporting that goal by working with our partners, and in our communities. This will include ensuring that we provide a timely response to the community needs with intervention where necessary, along with organising pro-active activities such as speed enforcement, the execution of search warrants and youth diversion. Your local Neighbourhood Team will be focused on achieving this with the support, interaction and assistance from our partner agencies and residents.
Different neighbourhoods have different concerns. These may include nuisance drivers, groups engaging in persistent anti-social behaviour or incidents of criminal damage. I would encourage you all to contact us to alert us of your concerns so that we can target our resources effectively. There are many ways to keep in touch with your local Safer Neighbourhood team including meeting us at Beat Surgeries and Street Meets, calling into the Police station, emailing us at ringwood.snt@hampshire.pnn.police.uk and telephoning us via 101 should you have any non-urgent matters of concern. To report details of criminal activity you can also phone the crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111
Your local officers publish beat reports every two months, reporting on their activities and their progress. These will be published on the Safer Neighbourhoods teams' WebPages or available at your local police station or around at local community centres. You can also sign up to receive these via email by emailing your local team - their email addresses can also be found on their WebPages.

I have worked as part of the Ringwood Policing team for twelve years having previously worked at Romsey and Eastleigh. I have managed the Hightown Beat for the past five years spending as much time as possible providing a visible and approachable presence on the ground. I am often patrolling on foot, cycle or in the Police van and available to stop and talk.
I conduct a beat surgery twice a month on a Wednesday and Sunday at Ringwood Recreation Centre for local residents to drop in and make contact with me or colleagues from the Ringwood Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
If you have any Policing issues or would like to speak to me regarding the prevention and detection of crime in Hightown, please get in touch.

I have been on the Safer Neighbourhood Team at Ringwood for over five years. I am engaged in community work on all of the Ringwood sector beats. I co-ordinate the Junior PCSO scheme which gets young people from local schools and youth groups involved and gives them an insight into our role.
I am also a LAGLO (Lesbian and Gay Liaison Officer) which involves working closely with the LGBT (Lesbian Gay, Bi-Sexual and Trans-gendered) communities in the Forest and dealing with hate crime and any other issues.
I also deliver anti-bullying presentations into schools, along with Graffiti and Vandalism education.

I have been a PCSO for the last 5 years based at Ringwood Police Station. As a part of my role I will conduct high visibility patrols in your neighbourhood on foot or cycle and an active virtual presence online where appropriate (Crimereports) taking all opportunities to increase public confidence and reassurance. Whilst conducting these patrols I will look to gather community intelligence in order to help solve community issues and crimes. This is also an opportunity to source local concerns identifying community priorities and hotspots. Whilst on patrol I will often utilise current legislation and good practice to tackle crime and ASB, using powers as appropriate to deter instances of nuisance or anti-social behaviour such as confiscation of alcohol from young persons.
I will work alongside statutory and collaborative partner agencies including voluntary organisation's to develop these relationships and explore new opportunities toward reducing crime and disorder (ASB) making referrals to agencies and force departments to reduce risk and harm to others. In particular we work along side the local schools to provide advice, reassurance and often participate in delivering presentation's. Whilst making the most of these opportunities to engage and gather relevant information.
